What to Expect from Your In-Person Orthotics Assessment

No clinic, no waiting room — we come to you

Our assessments happen in person, at your home, across North Wales, Chester, the Wirral, Liverpool and Greater Manchester. Here's exactly what happens from booking to the day your bespoke insoles arrive.

Booking your visit

Book online — selecting ‘Bespoke Insoles’ as your appointment type — and we'll arrange a home visit at a time that suits you, usually within a few days. Assessments are included for patients in North Wales and Chester; a £25 travel fee applies for the Wirral and Liverpool, or £40 for Greater Manchester.

The assessment itself

Your HCPC-registered podiatrist spends around 30–40 minutes with you: reviewing your medical history, discussing your symptoms and lifestyle, examining your feet, and observing how you move. Because it's in person, your podiatrist can assess things a phone call never could — joint range of motion, arch behaviour under load, and the wear pattern on your everyday shoes.

The impression — taken by a professional

Your podiatrist takes the foam impression of both feet themselves, using clinical-grade materials — so your orthotics are built from a mould taken with professional precision. In the rare event one needs retaking, it's simply done again on the spot.

Manufacture and delivery

Your impression goes to our ISO 13485-certified UK laboratory, where it's laser-scanned and your orthotics are 3D-printed in renewable PA11 to your podiatrist's prescription. Within 14 working days, they arrive at your door with your break-in instructions.

The honest bottom line

An in-person assessment costs us more time than a phone call would — but it produces a better prescription, a more accurate mould, and a device matched to how you actually move. For a £399 medical device you'll wear for years, we think that's the right way to do it.
